Neil DeGrasse Tyson returns to
DeVos Performance Hall on October 5, bringing An Astrophysicist Goes to the Movies – Part II. Derived from an entirely different set of films, from the Wizard of Oz to Mary Poppins to 2001: A Space Odyssey to Harry Potter to A Bug’s Life, it is an entertaining andenlightening review of all the science that our favorite movies got wrong combined with some of the stuff they got right. The show incorporates the latest films as well as some classics that you may not have known had any science in them at all.
Local presale begins Wednesday, June 10 at 10AM. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, June 12 at 10AM at DeVosPerformanceHall.com. Tyson is the fifth head since 1935 of the world-renowned
Hayden Planetarium in New York City and the first occupant of its Frederick P. Rose Directorship. He is also a research associate of the Department of Astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History.
