Grand Rapids Symphony Presents Beethoven & Haydn: The Student Becomes The Teacher avilable May 14 - June 12, 2021.

In this concert dedicated to the two composers, we turn the spotlight on our own principal cello Alicia Eppinga as she tackles Haydn’s Cello Concerto No. 1—a testament to elegance, charm, and delicacy. We will complete the evening with Beethoven’s Second Symphony—composed less than a decade after the two masters met, playful and lyrical passages can be deceiving. As the composer experienced the first signs of deafness, something unsettling is always barely under the surface.

This concert will be available with on-demand access for 30 days from May 14 - Jun. 12.
